I spent a fun afternoon yesterday playing with my Gelli Arts plates and Golden Open acrylics. I'm loving the extra working time I get with the Open paints. During my play, I made some stencils from hot glue, as demonstrated here by Jane Davies.
I make art for fun and self-expression. I work primarily with abstract collage and painting, most recently small works on paper. I find the order-from-chaos nature of collage, and the free-form, unfettered nature of abstraction both challenging and satisfying. In addition, I occasionally explore the self-portrait. Once I got over the discomfort of looking closely at my own image, I came to enjoy the process, and find wonder in the range of characters that emerge. I live with Randy, my wife of 30 years, and our two cats.
